Qi Gong (pronounced “Chee Gong”) is a gentle form of meditative exercise that focuses on flexibility, balance, proper alignment, breathing, and control of one’s energy.
Qi Gong was developed in China, and is slightly similar to Tai Chi, and has some breathing techniques similar to yoga. There are tens of thousands of different styles of Qi Gong; we will be focusing on Triple Burner Qi Gong, and exploring different styles as we progress.
Qi Gong is commonly used as an exercise to promote longevity, strengthen bones, muscles, and tendons, and bring relaxed clarity to the mind. Qi Gong can help with many complaints, including: fatigue, pain, stress, insomnia, digestive issues, restlessness, depression, etc.
Plan on wearing loose, comfortable clothing. Beginners are welcome and encouraged. Bring a friend, it’s a fun class, and anyone can participate!
